October 18th, 2007 - On the weekends as a kid I used to go stay over at my Grandparent's alot becuase they were awesome. On one such trip, my dad and I stumbled across a box of chocolate bars which as a kid is just about the greatest thing you can possibly have happen to you. They were Cadbury Snack bars which I'm pretty sure they don't make anymore and not actually ones a kid would sell for school. I'd imagine they probably fell off a delivery truck or something. So technically I lied in the strip, some kid losing the box was actually my second best guess. I was going to make the strip in that we found the chocolate bars, then nothing bad happened with some kind of joke like "Why can't just one strip have a happy ending?!". Then I said "nah" and when the fictious-parent-on-fictious-child violence-as-comedy route! Sooooo....one more week until Doomsday! And by Doomsday I mean the last strip before the off season. I had a little taste of freedom this week. Instead of drawing Tuesday, I went for a long walk with Julia, then went to dinner. We came home and watched The Office. Then Julia read while I watched anime and baseball. I don't wanna sound complainy but you have no earthly idea how much more fun that was for me than sitting in front of a Wacom tablet by myself! That said I'm sure that by March I'll probably be revved up to go again though. Isn't that why Jesus invented downtime for independant webcomic creators?! |
