September 13th, 2007 - Damn you Royal Rumble! I worked so hard to get the high score on that machine only to have the score mysteriously disappear! Seriously, at 8:00 Friday night they were there, then they just "went away forever" around 11:00. I think it was like some kinda crazy bug because it tilted for no reason in the middle of someone's game then the scores were gone.BLARG!

The title is a Blade Runner reference, BTW.

So after being the king at Royal Rumble pinball we met Pinball Joe (in the sunglasses, above) and he rocked my score, so I played a little more and took the title back. Then he beat me again with an impossibly high score it took me weeks to take back. I'm not sure how much I played when I was on vacation but it took about a week and a half for the pain in my wrists, elbows and shoulders to go away completely. I'm not joking! I figured I'd better get serious because when I got my new table, Rumble was probably going to spend some time on the back burner.

I learned my lesson though and am officially NEVER going to do that again. It was retarded!

Incidentally, the high score was 1.735 billion. The average game for an experienced player is about 600 million and around 150-200 million for a new player after a couple of games. You needed 1.35 billion just to make the top 6.

We had a great gathering/freakout at my place on Friday celebrating the new Addams Family pinball table. Black balloons and streamers, a good crowd that good super drunk but not super out of control. Last people to leave were around 4:00 am. Rock, Rock on!
